AlterJam ("the app", "we") is a mobile application for recording and sharing collaborative music jams. This policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a username, and optionally your first and last name, gender, date of birth, country, profile picture, and your musical instruments and genres. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from that provider; we never receive your social media password.
Content you create. Audio recordings (tracks), the jams they belong to, and your interactions with other users' content such as likes and bookmarks.
Device information. A push notification token for your device, used to deliver notifications such as jam invitations. Microphone access is used only while you are actively recording a track and audio is never captured in the background.
Usage data. Standard app analytics (such as crashes and feature usage) collected through Google Firebase, and login-related events through the Facebook SDK if you use Facebook Login.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Your username, name, country, instruments, genres, profile picture, and the jams and tracks you share are visible to other signed-in AlterJam users. Your email address, date of birth and device tokens are not visible to other users.
Data is stored and processed on Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) infrastructure in the United States, protected by authentication and per-user access rules.
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app — see our data deletion instructions.
AlterJam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
